Letting a man pay for me 7/30
Past me - I would get frustrated when a man would offer to pay for a meal, a drink. Depending on the situation part of me might be relived when it was a part of my life where I was tighter on money.
The frustration voice said: “ How dare he think I need a man to pay this for me. Does he think I can’t do it on my own? That I need to be supported because I’m a woman!”
This below transformed my perspective.
I heard Tony Robins once share a story when he was younger of what someone who was out to eat with said to him. I’m paraphrasing
“ Why do you want to take away my joy of paying for you to invite you?”
That opened my perspective to get out of my own head and take the other person’s perspective.
Today, when someone offers, depending on the relationship I have with the person, I might first inquire “ are you sure?” and if I know them more, I simply thank them.
I let myself fully receive in gratitude.
From my wild heart to yours
